Port of Køge provides sites and wharf space to a large number of companies that benefit from its good location, infrastructure and the general port environment.
In recent years, Port of Køge has grown to become one of Denmark’s largest harbours, with annual goods turnover of 2 million tonnes, and turnover of approx. DKK 31 million in financial terms. The port and the companies we house employ 300 people. These figures are destined to rise in the years ahead as Port of Køge is expanded by 40 hectares, and 1,200 metres of new wharf space.
Port of Køge also hosts a number of major sporting events. Each year, the port serves as the starting point for an all-women’s bicycle race with up to 8,000 participants. The annual “Around Zealand” bicycle race also starts and finishes in front of the Port of Køge. Port of Køge also provides the setting for the annual Køge Rowing Club regatta in which local companies compete in dragon boats.
