There is only a small fleet registered with the initials KE for Køge, but still enough to say that Køge is also a fishing port.
Port of Køge receives edible fish from local vessels, and occasionally industrial fish from large trawlers, typically from Jutland, Sweden or Poland.
Køge serves as a receiving port for many Danish Fishermen, and has unloading facilities, cool rooms and an ice factory. It is still possible for private individuals to pick up freshly caught plaice at the wharf side early in the morning, at a very reasonable price.
